A Question of …
April 17th, 2008 by technitus
Imagine a pregnant woman is beaten up on the street and you’re the only person around. Of course you would help the woman. But why?
It’s not you who is beaten up. It’s not your wife. It won’t affect your life if you help her, would it?

It wouldn’t matter to me if she was pregnant or not, or if it was a man and not a woman. I’d help a stranger in pain out of simple respect for humanity.

I’ve always felt that the closer the tragedy is to you, the more you feel attached to those involved. If a person was murdered in your neighborhood you would feel stronger about it than if a person was murdered in a large city a thousand miles away. I think the emotions a person displays weaken as you move out from the epicenter, which is the location of the event.
So a crime committed right in front of you would bring on the strongest emotions and in most cases the strongest response.

Amazing thought. Its just human nature.

I don’t know…maybe because it’s the right thing to do?It doesn’t have to affect my life ,if I can make a difference then it’s worth it.

it could be because I do not want that to happen to me or to my mother or sister or friend… but ultimately, it would be because I know I wouldn’t be able to sleep for many nights thinking about that woman, and knowing that I could have done something to help her but I didn’t… conscience…

Some things hit people on a humanity level. It’s been breed into most males that you are suppose to open the door for women, use better manners around them et al. Helping a woman out in this manner is the next natural step.

I think males should open the doors women!

Regardless of if they are pregnant or not, man or woman, child or adult, I WOULD help, for me not only is it the right thing to do but i also beleive in Karma, What goes around comes around as they say. Great Post

I think it comes down to humans having compassion. No matter if it is a pregnant woman or an old man, I would want to help.

I’m sure I wouldn’t think about it at all. It is built into me to just jump in thre and defend. Those darn genetics!

Think outside your self .

Except it WOULD affect your life. Knowing you did the right thing would affect your life. If you saw something like that situation happen and didn’t do anything, wouldn’t it affect you? If you have a conscience, you would feel guilty. Seeing something like that would affect you, even if you didn’t realize it, whether you did something about it or not.

I would help her…you have to!

Yeah.. Anyone with the right mind just won’t walk away. But I would be smarter as I’ll get help or gain other people’s attention instead of just barging in blindly =3

No matter who’s the person is, I would gladly give out my helping hand. Be it an stranger, my foe, man ; woman.
Well,
It doesn’t matter.

It’s just human nature to help someone in need.

Supposed I am faced with this situation, I will help her as far as I can do. Although our help doesn’t affect her much but at least we have showed our humanity.
June 29th, 2008 at 8:58 pm
I would help, like everyone else. Any time you help a person, or animal for that matter in need it does affect your life. You will always have the memory and feeling of self worth for making a difference in someone or somethings life.

I’d help because it’s not really a choice is it? Anybody in that situation wouldn’t even think twice and would come to her rescue.
I believe people are basically good and seeing a pregnant woman would trigger the instinct to protect…
It would affect my life to help her. My action would affect how I feel about myself… How I’d live with my conscience.

i think i should help.. because of the nature of human being… its absolutely wrong….
